1 I've registered, but have not received my confirmation email. What should I do?

This is a common issue that we are experiencing because many ISP's see email coming from our domain as Junk mail even after we use the services of approved email service providers to deliver our mail.

Three things you can do to receive your email from us:

  1. Add www.mywerx.com to your email's safe sender's list.
  2. Check your junk mail and move the emails to your Inbox folder.
  3. You can ask WGN.net to not automatically block email from our domain.

2 How do I enter the promotion code?

From the homepage, click the WerxProof link on the left hand side of the screen. From there, click the blue Sign Up Now button. Choose the second from the top option ($39.95 Base Subscription Yearly). Read the Terms of Use, and check the box that says you did so. Enter the promotion code (YourPromotionCode) in the box that says “Enter Promotion Code” and then click Proceed to Checkout. Fill out your payment information in order for us to verify that you are an actual person with an identity. Once this is complete, you will have WerxProof for your MyWerx account.

4 Does MyWerx replace a registered copyright through the Library of Congress?

MyWerx provides you with cost affective proof that a work was created on a certain date to support any legal action that may occur in the future. We recommend that you file copyright registrations with the Copyright Office when you make a work available to the public and it starts to provide some type of economic value. There are damages benefits you receive for filing with the Copyright Office prior to an infringement occurring (read this for even more information http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap5.html#504 ). You can receive damages awards even if you register a work with the Copyright Office after an infringement occurs, but they are not as great.

From a business perspective, it doesn't make economic sense to register a work until it promises to generate enough revenue to justify the $40.00 registration fee. MyWerx offers 4 types of evidence that collectively serve as a precursor to the copyright office registration. They constitute the best possible proof in the event you need to defend yourself against a copyright infringement claim, or take action against someone else that has infringed on your work. We recommend that you use WerxProof at the moment your idea is conceived. Use WerxProof early and save each iteration as the work develops, then add the US registration with the Copyright Office when the work begins to make money. Combined, WerxProof and the Copyright Office registration provide the best possible protection. If you are like most creators, you will find that registration with the Copyright Office only happens on 1 to 2 percent of the works you create if you apply the best practice we recommend.

5 How do I add an alternate email?

From any page, click the Settings tab in the top right-hand corner of the page. The very top box contains email information. The first box holds your primary email address, and the box below it provides you with a space to add an alternate email. Type your alternate email address into that box, then click the Save button. Other users will now be able to locate your MyWerx account through either email address.

6 Why do you ask for my payment information if I’m using the Free code?

We always ask for payment information, even if your balance is $0.00, in order for us to verify that you are an actual human with an identity. This is to protect the legitimacy of MyWerx as well as the security of your works on MyWerx.
